Terms of Use
The agreement between you and us: what ProfessorAI does, what it deliberately does not promise, and what we expect from you.
Draft notice: the operator name and contact address on this page are placeholders until the operator completes them.
1. This agreement
These terms are the agreement between you and [Operator legal name] (“we”, “us”) for the use of ProfessorAI. By creating an account or using the service you accept them, together with our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
2. Who may use it
You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement. The service is intended for researchers, academics, and students in higher education. One account belongs to one person; do not share your credentials.
3. What the service does
ProfessorAI takes a study through eleven steps, from choosing what to write about to fitting a finished manuscript to a journal’s author guidelines. Along the way it searches open scholarly databases, evaluates what it finds, and writes text: outlines, sections, paragraphs, alternative sentences, summaries, and cover letters. It also edits text you supply.
It is an assistant. It does not do your research, it does not know your field better than you, and it is not a co-author.
4. The text the professor writes
Because the service generates text, you need to know its limits before you rely on it.
- Output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date, and it can be wrong while sounding confident. Check every factual claim yourself.
- Output is not professional advice of any kind, including legal, medical, clinical, financial, or safety advice. Do not act on it in those areas.
- Two people asking similar questions can receive similar text. We do not promise that anything generated for you is unique to you.
- We do not check anything for plagiarism or textual similarity, and we do not run your work against any similarity service.
- What comes out is a draft to work on, not a manuscript to submit as it stands.
5. Sources and citations
One thing is enforced mechanically rather than promised. When the professor writes with citations, it may cite only the records your own literature search produced. Before a draft is saved, an automatic check confirms that every citation matches a record in that list and rejects the draft if it does not. Where no source fits a claim, you are shown a visible marker instead of an invented reference.
That guard proves a cited record exists in your list. It does not prove the record supports the sentence attached to it. Read what you cite before you submit it.
6. Your responsibility for the work
Institutions, supervisors, funders, journals, and publishers set their own rules on the use of AI assistance, and many require it to be disclosed. Those rules are yours to find and follow. Using ProfessorAI does not excuse you from them, and we do not decide for you what must be declared. You are answerable for whatever you submit under your name. Our Academic Integrity Statement sets this out in full.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the service to:
- do anything unlawful, or to produce content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, defamatory, sexually explicit, or that promotes violence or self-harm;
- fabricate data, results, participants, or sources, or present generated text as data you collected;
- impersonate another person or claim authorship, affiliation, or credentials you do not hold;
- upload material you have no right to use;
- break, overload, or automate access to the service, or bypass authentication, credit limits, or rate limits;
- resell or redistribute the service, or present it as your own product.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.
8. Reporting objectionable output
ProfessorAI has no public feed, no comments, and no messaging between users. Nothing you write is visible to anyone else. The content you encounter is either your own or generated for you.
If the service produces something objectionable, offensive, harmful, or otherwise in breach of these terms, report it to [contact email] with enough detail for us to find it. We review every report and normally respond within one working day. Where a report is upheld we remove the content, correct the behaviour, and where a person is responsible we suspend the account.
9. Credits and payment
Actions that call the AI cost credits, and the cost is shown before you run the action. A credit is taken only after the action succeeds; if it fails, nothing is taken, and if it fails after a deduction the credit is returned.
There is currently no way to buy anything. Credits are granted by us and cannot be purchased, transferred, or exchanged for money. If paid plans are introduced later, the price and the terms will be shown to you before any purchase, and nothing will be charged without your explicit confirmation.
10. Availability and change
This is a new service under active development. Steps can change, be replaced, or be removed, and the service can be unavailable. We do not promise uninterrupted operation, and we do not promise that a particular feature will continue to work the way it does today.
11. Ending the agreement and deleting your account
You can stop using the service at any time. To delete your account and everything stored under it, open the Account page in the app and confirm; deletion happens straight away and cannot be undone. If you cannot sign in, write to [contact email] from the address on your account and we will delete it within 30 days. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or that puts the service at risk, and we will tell you why unless we are prevented from doing so.
12. Ownership
You keep every right you already had in what you enter. As between you and us, the text generated for you is yours: you may use it in your research, your thesis, and your publications. We claim no ownership of your manuscript, and we do not publish, share, or reuse your studies.
The software, the interface, the name, and the logo remain ours. Nothing here gives you a licence to them beyond using the service as intended.
13. No warranty
The service is provided as it is and as it is available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that output is accurate, that a source supports your argument, or that any manuscript will be accepted anywhere.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, nor for lost work, lost time, rejected submissions, academic sanctions, or reputational harm arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Türkiye. If you use the service as a consumer, you keep the mandatory protections of the country where you live.
16. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the effective date at the top of the page changes with them, and the new version is published here before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new version.
